Eddy Alem\u00e1n is general secretary of the Reformed Church in America (RCA), where he is responsible for casting a vision for the denomination and overseeing the implementation of its mission.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He originally joined the RCA\u2019s denominal staff as director of strategic leadership development and coordinator of Hispanic ministries, where he oversaw the leadership priority of Transformed &amp; Transforming, the RCA&#8217;s 15-year ministry plan, and worked with pastors and churches to identify and train leaders. Before that, he served churches in Canada, California, and Michigan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a teenager, Alem\u00e1n fled the civil war in his home country of Nicaragua and moved to Canada as a refugee; that move changed the trajectory of his life and gave him a new perspective and a new opportunity. Alem\u00e1nholds a Master of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary in central California and a Master of Arts in New Testament from Fresno Pacific University Biblical Seminary.
